Guest Services Manager

Spain Islands THE HOXTON POBLENOU €28,000–€36,000 gross per year*
Job Description

The Guest Services Manager leads the front-office and guest-relations operation, ensuring warm, efficient and personalised service throughout the guest journey. Requirements typically include hotel or hospitality management experience, strong knowledge of front-office procedures, excellent communication skills and fluency in English; Spanish is highly valuable, with additional languages an advantage. The successful candidate should be confident supervising a team, resolving complaints, coordinating with housekeeping and other departments, managing service standards and supporting operational targets. A hands-on, organised and welcoming personality is expected, together with flexibility for shifts, weekends and busy periods. Experience with hotel property-management systems and a genuine interest in The Hoxton’s informal, community-focused style would be beneficial.

Company Info

The Hoxton is a lifestyle hotel brand known for combining comfortable accommodation with lively public spaces, restaurants, bars and cultural programming. Rather than operating as a traditional formal hotel, its properties aim to feel like a neighbourhood living room, welcoming both visitors and local residents. The Hoxton Poblenou is located in Barcelona’s creative Poblenou district and forms part of the wider Accor group, one of the world’s major hospitality companies. Accor operates a broad portfolio of hotel brands across different market segments and provides international career opportunities, training and mobility. The Hoxton typically looks for people who are personable, curious, energetic and comfortable working in a diverse, fast-moving environment. Team members are expected to create memorable experiences while maintaining professional standards and supporting an inclusive atmosphere.

Destination Guide

Spain’s main island destinations include the Balearic Islands—Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera—and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Tourism creates opportunities in hotels, restaurants, guest services, events, transport, wellness and outdoor activities, with the strongest demand in spring and summer, although the Canaries have a longer year-round season. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with local food, music, festivals and a relaxed social lifestyle. Living costs vary greatly: popular areas such as Ibiza, Mallorca and Tenerife can have expensive or limited housing, especially during peak season. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens generally need only registration and a work contract. Non-EU nationals normally require an appropriate Spanish work visa or residence permit, usually arranged with employer support. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, tax, healthcare and transport arrangements, and learn basic Spanish; local languages such as Catalan may also be useful in the Balearics.
