Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf destination offering strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, retail, aviation, events and business development, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The country is multicultural, safe and highly international, with English widely used in the workplace. Dubai combines beaches, shopping, nightlife, restaurants and desert activities with a fast-paced professional lifestyle. Islamic traditions influence public conduct, dress and annual rhythms, especially during Ramadan, while expatriate communities provide varied social and cultural experiences. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residency and a work permit; employers commonly arrange visa processing, medical checks and Emirates ID procedures. Packages may include accommodation or an allowance, health insurance, annual leave and return flights, but this should be confirmed before accepting an offer. Housing, schooling and transport can be expensive, so relocation planning and contract review are important. JBR is well connected by tram, metro and taxi, though traffic and summer heat should be considered.
