Destination Guide

Spain’s main island destinations include Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Hospitality, tourism, restaurants, events, wellness and water sports provide the largest number of seasonal jobs, especially from spring to autumn. Ibiza offers a social, international lifestyle, famous nightlife, beaches and electronic music, while Mallorca and Menorca are generally more varied and family-oriented. The Canary Islands have a mild climate and longer tourism seasons. Accommodation can be expensive and difficult to find in Ibiza during summer, so staff housing or shared accommodation should be arranged early. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work with normal registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an appropriate work or internship visa, and students may require an approved educational placement agreement. Spanish is useful for daily life, although English is widely used in tourism.
