Destination Guide

Ireland offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, technology, healthcare, construction, finance, and customer service, with Dublin providing the broadest range of international employers. Irish culture is friendly, conversational, and community-oriented, with strong traditions in music, sport, storytelling, and local hospitality. Dublin has a vibrant social scene, while smaller towns offer a quieter lifestyle and easier access to countryside and coastlines. Accommodation can be expensive and competitive, especially in Dublin, so arranging housing early is advisable. Citizens of the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and the UK generally have the right to live and work in Ireland without an employment visa. Most other nationals need an employment permit and, where applicable, an entry visa before starting work. A PPS number, Irish bank account, tax registration, and suitable health insurance arrangements may also be required. Public transport is strongest around Dublin, while a car is useful outside cities.
