Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, engineering, construction, aviation, retail and service-sector jobs. The country is highly multicultural, and English is widely used in workplaces, while Arabic is the official language. Life is modern and convenient, with extensive public transport, shopping, international schools, beaches and year-round dining and entertainment. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioning are central to daily life. Employers normally sponsor work visas for expatriate employees after a formal offer; medical checks, Emirates ID registration and residency procedures are typically part of the process. Candidates should verify salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave, probation and recruitment fees before accepting. Dubai accommodation can be expensive, so staff housing or an allowance is valuable. Relocating employees should bring authenticated documents where requested and follow current UAE immigration rules.
