Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the widest range of hotel, restaurant, catering and tourism jobs. Hospitality opportunities are available for chefs, housekeeping staff, servers, front-office employees, technicians and managers. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important. Dubai offers a busy urban lifestyle, beaches, shopping, public transport and year-round events, while summers are extremely hot. Most expatriate employees enter on an employer-sponsored employment visa. The employer normally arranges work authorization, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and residency formalities. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, probation terms and contract conditions before relocating. Recruitment fees should not be paid to obtain a legitimate UAE job.
