Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality, engineering, tourism, and service-sector opportunities, particularly around Kuala Lumpur, Sepang, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak. The country blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous cultures, with English widely used in hotels and business settings. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although Kuala Lumpur and major resort areas can be more expensive. Malaysia has tropical weather, diverse food, beaches, rainforests, and strong public transport in urban areas. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with the hiring company handling approval and immigration procedures; requirements depend on salary, qualifications, nationality, and job level. Candidates should secure a written offer, confirm accommodation and medical coverage, and check passport and visa rules before relocating. Sepang is practical for airport access and commuting, though transport may be more car-dependent than central Kuala Lumpur.
