Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, especially in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Cairns and regional destinations. The culture is generally friendly, informal and multicultural, with emphasis on workplace safety, punctuality and fair employment conditions. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal or regional communities; costs, particularly rent, can be high in Sydney. Workers should confirm salary, superannuation, shift penalties and accommodation before relocating. Common visa pathways include employer-sponsored visas, skilled visas and working holiday visas for eligible nationalities, although eligibility and age limits apply. Employers may require work rights, identity checks, references and relevant qualifications. New arrivals should arrange a tax file number, Australian bank account, health insurance where required and suitable accommodation. Public transport is strong in major cities, while regional areas may require a car.
