Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, technology, and business opportunities. The country is highly international, and English is widely used at work; Arabic is the official language and Islamic traditions influence public life. Dubai offers modern transport, beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and a fast-paced lifestyle, although rent and everyday expenses can be high. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and sometimes accommodation, transport, meals, or flights. Do not work on a tourist visa. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, salary, service charge, housing, working hours, leave, insurance, probation terms, and visa sponsorship. Respect local dress, religious customs, and laws, particularly during Ramadan.
