Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a Gulf country known for strong hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail and construction job markets. Ras Al Khaimah offers a quieter, more relaxed lifestyle than Dubai, with beaches, mountains, desert activities and generally lower living costs. The culture is multicultural but socially conservative, so respectful dress and behaviour are important, particularly during Ramadan. Resort employers commonly provide accommodation, meals, transport, medical cover and an annual flight allowance. Employees normally need an employment entry permit followed by residence and work visas sponsored by the employer; medical checks and Emirates ID registration are required. Bring verified qualifications and employment documents, and confirm all benefits in the written contract. The UAE has no personal income tax on salaries, although rent, transport and utilities should be considered if accommodation is not provided.
