Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but offers a diverse lifestyle across cities, beaches and desert landscapes. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare, technology and finance provide many employment opportunities, especially in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for local customs are appreciated. Lifestyle options range from modern shopping and dining to outdoor activities, water sports and mountain trips. Most overseas employees receive an employer-sponsored work visa, residence permit, medical testing and Emirates ID, with the employer commonly covering visa costs. Confirm the contract, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave and gratuity terms before accepting a role. Ras Al Khaimah generally offers a quieter and less expensive lifestyle than Dubai, although salaries and amenities vary by employer.
