Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates, including Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality offers many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, airlines, events, and tourism, with strong demand for service-oriented staff. The culture is diverse and respectful, combining Emirati traditions with a large international workforce. Life is modern and convenient, although housing, transport, and leisure costs vary considerably by emirate. Sharjah is generally more conservative and affordable than Dubai, with museums, souks, waterfront areas, and family-friendly attractions. Employers commonly arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical testing, and Emirates ID after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, working hours, leave, and flight benefits in writing. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are important.
