Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Ras Al Khaimah is a coastal emirate with beaches, mountains and a quieter lifestyle than Dubai. Hospitality, tourism, construction, engineering, retail, logistics and healthcare provide many job opportunities, with resorts offering roles for international workers. UAE culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a large expatriate community. Respectful dress and behaviour are expected, particularly during Ramadan and in public places. Lifestyle options include outdoor activities, shopping, dining and desert or mountain trips; summers are extremely hot. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored residence and work visa. Employers commonly arrange entry permits, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and sometimes accommodation, transport and meals. Before relocating, confirm salary, benefits, probation, working hours, leave, insurance and contract terms. Keep your passport valid, budget for initial expenses and check document-attestation requirements.
