Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it is a popular relocation destination for aviation and logistics professionals. Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer opportunities with airlines, airports, cargo companies, freight forwarders, tourism businesses, technology firms and government-linked organisations. The culture is cosmopolitan, with Arabic traditions alongside large expatriate communities from around the world. Life is convenient and modern, with excellent transport, shopping, healthcare and international schools, although housing and private education can be expensive. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are warm and comfortable. Most overseas employees need employer sponsorship for a residence and work visa; companies commonly arrange permits, medical checks and Emirates ID processing. A signed employment contract, passport, education documents and professional certificates may be required. Relocating employees should budget for accommodation deposits, insurance, transport and initial living costs.
