Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality and engineering opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands. Bali has the largest concentration of international hotels and a relaxed, tourism-focused lifestyle, while Jakarta and other cities offer broader corporate and commercial opportunities. Local culture values respect, community, religious diversity, and polite communication; workplace customs may vary between regions. Living costs depend heavily on location, with Bali resort areas and Jakarta generally more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work permit, and a limited-stay visa or KITAS before starting work. Employers often assist with documentation, accommodation, transport, health insurance, and relocation, but these benefits should be confirmed in writing. Learning basic Indonesian is useful for daily life and team communication.
