The Chief Accountant oversees the hotel’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash control, taxation, audits, payroll coordination and compliance with company policies and Malaysian regulations. Candidates should have a degree or professional qualification in accounting or finance, relevant hotel or hospitality experience, and strong knowledge of financial systems and reporting standards. ACCA, CPA or MIA membership is advantageous. The role requires leadership, accuracy, integrity, analytical ability and confident communication with department heads, auditors, suppliers and senior management. Experience with hotel accounting software and a practical understanding of cost control are expected.
