Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, tourism, aviation, technology and finance. Its multicultural population blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its festivals, languages and outstanding food scene. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, shopping, parks and beaches, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. The employer usually submits the application, while approval depends on current government requirements and quotas. New arrivals should arrange a valid passport, employment contract, medical documentation where required, housing and local banking access. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and demanding hospitality schedules are important considerations for relocation.
