Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals and famous hawker food. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and modern, with excellent public transport, shopping, parks and healthcare, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation; approval is handled through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Relocating staff should arrange suitable housing, healthcare coverage, banking and tax registration, and check whether the employer provides meals, accommodation, transport or relocation assistance. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
