Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. Its culture is multicultural, shaped by Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international communities, with English widely used at work. Life is convenient and safe, supported by excellent public transport, reliable healthcare, extensive shopping, and diverse food options. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees share accommodation or live farther from work. Foreign hospitality workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and applicable sector rules. The employer normally submits the application. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, and daily expenses, and confirm accommodation, benefits, working hours, and pass eligibility before relocating.
