Destination Guide

Indonesia offers strong hospitality opportunities, particularly in Bali, Jakarta, Lombok, Batam and other resort destinations. Bali is the most established choice for international hotel professionals, with a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, wellness culture, temples, varied dining and a large expatriate community. Local customs are generally community-oriented and respectful, and appropriate dress is expected at religious sites. Living costs vary widely: Bali resort areas can be expensive, while smaller towns are more affordable. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored authorization, commonly involving a work permit process and KITAS, and should not work on a tourist visa. Employers may provide accommodation, meals, flights, insurance and relocation support, but these benefits should be confirmed in writing. Healthcare and transport are strongest in major cities and tourist centers.
