Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, offering strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, facilities management, tourism, construction and aviation. Dubai and Abu Dhabi provide the largest employment markets, while Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and other emirates offer resort-based roles and a quieter lifestyle. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities and shopping to museums, restaurants and outdoor sports. Employers normally sponsor a work permit and residence visa after an offer, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration required. Candidates should verify accommodation, transport, insurance, gratuity and leave terms before accepting. Costs are highest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so housing benefits can significantly affect relocation decisions.
