Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality and procurement opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and other resort destinations. Langkawi, Penang, and Sabah provide island-oriented lifestyles, beaches, outdoor activities, and a more relaxed pace, while Kuala Lumpur offers broader corporate and international career options. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences reflected in food, festivals, religion, and daily life. Living costs vary, with resort islands and central Kuala Lumpur generally more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on salary, qualifications, nationality, and position. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules and tax obligations. Relocation planning should include accommodation, healthcare, transport, banking, weather, and access to family services.
