The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, internal controls and statutory compliance. Candidates should typically hold a degree or professional qualification in accounting or finance, with relevant experience in hotel finance or a comparable service business. Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation, payroll, audit procedures and financial systems is expected. The successful candidate should be analytical, organised and commercially aware, while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Shangri-La would also expect strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, as the role works closely with the General Manager, department heads, auditors and corporate finance teams.
