Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and retail. Hotel roles are available in front office, reservations, food and beverage, housekeeping, events and sales, although competition can be significant. The culture is multicultural, safe and organised, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, shopping and dining to parks, beaches and attractions on Sentosa and nearby islands. Rent can be expensive, especially near the city centre, so many workers share accommodation or live farther out along MRT lines. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and sector rules. Employers usually guide applicants through the application process. Relocating workers should budget for housing deposits, transport, healthcare and daily expenses before arrival.
