Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, property management, facilities engineering, finance, technology, aviation and international business. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences; respect, punctuality, efficiency and professional presentation are highly valued. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, dense urban neighbourhoods, diverse food, shopping, hiking and easy access to beaches and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, particularly on Hong Kong Island and in central districts, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Overseas professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, with approval based on qualifications, a genuine job offer and market-level pay. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. Before relocating, candidates should confirm accommodation support, medical coverage, taxation, working hours and visa arrangements with Shangri-La.
