Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with major hospitality opportunities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, attractions and events create regular openings for UAE nationals and international professionals. The culture blends Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respectful conduct are important, especially in public and religious settings. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches and dining, although summer heat is intense and accommodation can be expensive. UAE nationals generally do not need an employment visa. Expatriates require employer-sponsored residency, a work permit, medical testing and Emirates ID processing. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance or annual tickets, but packages vary. Candidates should confirm benefits, probation terms and relocation support before accepting an offer.
