Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-island with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, food and beverage, technology, finance and healthcare. Its diverse population blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in its languages, festivals and cuisine. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and urban, with excellent public transport, shopping, parks and attractions, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Hospitality roles commonly involve shift work, weekends and public holidays, with opportunities at hotels, resorts, restaurants and event venues. Foreign candidates generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rental deposits, medical insurance and transport, and verify current immigration requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before relocating.
