Shangri-La properties in Indonesia employ teams across food and beverage, culinary operations, rooms, guest services, engineering, and administration. The company generally emphasizes warm Asian hospitality, professional standards, employee development, and teamwork. Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and the Riau Islands. Bali has the largest concentration of international resorts and restaurants, while Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung provide extensive hotel and culinary employment on Java. Lombok and the island destinations offer resort work but may have fewer year-round openings. Daily life is generally social and affordable, although housing and transport costs are higher in major tourism areas. Indonesian culture values community, respect, religious diversity, and courteous workplace relationships; basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work authorization, commonly involving a work permit and limited-stay visa. They should not work on a tourist visa. Relocating candidates should budget for deposits, transport, health insurance, document legalization, and possible accommodation costs. Requirements and immigration rules can change, so verify details with the employer and Indonesian authorities before travel.
