Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with strong hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and other resort destinations. Hotels, restaurants, cruise businesses, and tourism operators regularly recruit chefs, supervisors, front-office staff, and service professionals. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, and welcoming, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities; costs are usually lower outside Manila, though popular resort islands can be expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, while Filipino hires must meet local employment and documentation requirements. Relocation planning should include accommodation, transport, healthcare, banking, and typhoon preparedness. Shangri-La may provide staff housing or relocation assistance depending on the property, but applicants should confirm these benefits, contract terms, probation conditions, and work authorization requirements directly with human resources before moving.
