The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing the hotel’s accounting function, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash control, internal controls, audits and compliance with Malaysian regulations and Shangri-La standards. Candidates typically need a degree in accounting or finance, professional qualifications or equivalent experience, and several years of hotel or hospitality accounting experience. Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax, payroll, financial systems and statutory reporting is expected. The successful candidate should be analytical, commercially aware, highly organised and able to lead a finance team. Excellent communication skills, integrity, attention to detail and the ability to work with department heads and senior management are essential.
