The Stewarding (Dishwasher) is responsible for washing and sanitising dishes, kitchen utensils, cookware and service equipment, while keeping the dishwashing and back-of-house areas clean and organised. Candidates should be physically fit, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Previous kitchen stewarding, cleaning or hotel experience is helpful but may not be essential. The role requires attention to hygiene and food-safety standards, safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Good teamwork, a positive attitude, punctuality and willingness to follow instructions are expected.

The group is recognised for warm Asian-inspired hospitality, high service standards and a broad portfolio of luxury and upscale properties. Shangri-La Singapore is a prominent city hotel set within landscaped grounds near Orchard Road, offering accommodation, restaurants, event facilities, recreation and wellness services. As with most large hospitality employers, working conditions can include shift duties, busy periods and close coordination between kitchen, restaurant, housekeeping and engineering teams.
Singapore is a compact, modern island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, logistics, finance and technology. Its culture is highly multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping and easy access to parks and waterfront areas. Rent can be expensive, so newcomers often share accommodation or live farther from the city centre. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; entry-level hospitality staff may require a Work Permit, subject to current government rules and eligibility. The employer normally handles the application process. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, medical coverage, contract terms and pass arrangements directly with Shangri-La.
