Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in resort management, front office, food and beverage, tourism, diving, wellness, engineering, and support services, especially in Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, Bohol, and Metro Manila. Island life is generally warm, sociable, and community-oriented, with strong family values, English widely used, and a culture built around hospitality, festivals, seafood, and outdoor activities. Living costs vary: tourist islands can be expensive, while local areas are more affordable. Transport may involve ferries, small aircraft, tricycles, and limited road networks. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and an appropriate work visa or permit before working legally; requirements should be confirmed with the employer and Philippine authorities. Relocation planning should include medical insurance, housing, banking, weather risks, and access to schools or healthcare. Local employees should verify accommodation, benefits, transport, and contract terms before accepting an island posting.
