Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, finance, retail, logistics, technology, healthcare and professional services. Its hospitality sector is international and can provide career progression for candidates with customer-service, security or supervisory experience. Life is fast-paced, highly connected and urban, with excellent public transport, efficient services, diverse restaurants and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and tourism. Overseas employees normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong company; applications generally require a confirmed job offer, suitable qualifications and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Plan for relatively high housing costs, especially near major business districts, and confirm whether accommodation, meals, insurance or relocation support are included in the employment package.
