Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the widest range of hospitality, engineering, construction, tourism, retail, and business opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage, and a highly international workforce. Respectful dress and behavior are expected, particularly during Ramadan and in public places. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping malls, desert excursions, water sports, cultural sites, and a broad international dining scene. Most expatriates live in apartments or staff accommodation and rely on taxis, buses, or private cars. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, medical examination, Emirates ID, and work permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocating candidates should confirm housing, transport, insurance, flights, gratuity, and other benefits in the offer. Costs are highest in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while other emirates can be more affordable.
