Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort islands, particularly in luxury hotels, restaurants, events and tourism. Bali is the most international and tourism-focused destination, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel markets. Life can include warm weather, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, although traffic, seasonal demand and varying infrastructure should be considered. Indonesian culture values respect, community, family and religious diversity; modesty and sensitivity toward local customs are important. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly arranged through the hiring company, and must not work on a tourist visa. Relocation packages may include accommodation, meals, flights, insurance and transport, but this varies by contract. Candidates should confirm tax treatment, housing, medical coverage, contract duration and work authorisation before accepting an offer.
