Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra and other resort islands. Bali has the largest concentration of international hotels, restaurants and tourism businesses, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide stronger corporate and city-hotel career options. Lombok and destinations such as Labuan Bajo offer growing resort opportunities, although services and transport can be more limited. Daily life may include warm weather, affordable local food, traffic in busy areas and a relaxed but community-oriented culture. Indonesian workplaces value politeness, teamwork and respect for hierarchy; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is helpful. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and KITAS, with the company handling the relevant immigration process. Candidates should confirm housing, meals, medical insurance, tax, flights and service-charge arrangements before relocating. Costs vary considerably between tourist islands and major cities.
