Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly international city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology and professional services. Hotel careers are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and areas such as Tsim Sha Tsui, Central and the airport. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences; politeness, punctuality and relationship building are important at work. Life is energetic, convenient and generally safe, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, beaches and hiking close to dense urban districts. Rent can be expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Most overseas hires need an employment visa sponsored by the employer, normally requiring a confirmed job offer and proof that their qualifications and experience suit the role. Candidates should confirm visa support, housing costs, medical coverage and any commission structure before relocating.
