Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, catering, events, tourism and other service industries. The culture is international and fast-paced, blending Cantonese traditions with global business influences. Employees can enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, nightlife, hiking and beaches, although housing and daily expenses are high. Most foreign professionals require an employment visa sponsored by their employer; applicants normally need a confirmed job, relevant qualifications or experience, and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Employers usually assist with visa documentation and onboarding. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, arrange health insurance where necessary, and check employment terms, working hours, rest days and accommodation before relocating. Hong Kong uses the Hong Kong dollar and Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business settings.
