Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island country, but it offers coastal city living, beaches, desert landscapes and a highly international lifestyle. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail and technology provide strong employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a large expatriate community; respectful dress and behavior are important, especially during Ramadan. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, healthcare and entertainment, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, residence permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after hiring. Candidates should confirm whether accommodation, transport, insurance and flights are included in the offer. Relocating workers should budget for deposits, mobile service and initial expenses, and should never work on a tourist visa. Public beaches, cultural districts and desert excursions offer good ways to experience the country outside work.
