Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN, and Traders brands. Shangri-La properties are known for personalized service, premium facilities, restaurants, meeting venues, and resort experiences. In the Philippines, the group operates several well-established hotels and resorts in destinations such as Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment where service standards, guest relations, commercial performance, teamwork, and professional presentation are highly valued.

Destination Guide

The Philippines offers varied opportunities in hospitality, tourism, business services, technology, healthcare, education, and retail. Luzon, particularly Metro Manila, is the main commercial and corporate center, while Cebu is a popular base for tourism, business, and international services. Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Siargao provide resort-focused lifestyles with beaches, water activities, and strong seasonal tourism. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and community minded, although traffic, tropical weather, and uneven infrastructure can require adjustment. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate employment visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocating staff should budget for housing, transport, healthcare, insurance, and travel between islands. Major cities offer international schools, hospitals, restaurants, and modern amenities, while resort islands tend to have a slower, more outdoor-oriented lifestyle.
