Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across major islands, including Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Lombok, and the Riau Islands. Luxury hotels and resorts regularly recruit chefs, commis staff, service employees, housekeepers, and front-office professionals, particularly in Bali, Jakarta, Batam, and tourism destinations. The culture is diverse, community-oriented, and generally welcoming, with local customs and religious practices varying by region. Lifestyle ranges from busy metropolitan living to relaxed coastal communities, and living costs are usually lower outside Jakarta and Bali. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship, an approved work permit, and the appropriate limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with documentation, accommodation, meals, transport, and flights, but this should be confirmed in writing. Applicants should check current Indonesian immigration rules before relocating and budget for healthcare, housing, transport, and daily expenses.
