Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and other tourism centers, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, diving, wellness, and events. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by Spanish, American, and Asian traditions; English is widely used in workplaces. Island life can provide beautiful beaches, outdoor activities, affordable local food, and a relaxed social atmosphere, although transport, internet, healthcare, and supplies may be more limited outside major cities. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit followed by a 9(g) work visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is important. Candidates should budget for flights, deposits, transportation, and relocation costs, and clarify accommodation, service charge, medical insurance, and contract terms before accepting an offer.
