Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it is a popular Gulf destination with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and events. Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer the largest hospitality job markets, while Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah provide resort-focused roles. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international workforce; modest professional dress, respect for local customs and awareness of Ramadan practices are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping and dining to desert activities and modern entertainment, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, usually arranged after a signed offer and medical examination. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, insurance and flights, but candidates should confirm all benefits, probation terms and contract conditions before relocating.
