Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected city and territory made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, with many outlying islands nearby. Hospitality provides regular opportunities in hotels, restaurants, events, tourism and guest services, particularly for candidates with English, Cantonese or Mandarin skills. The culture blends Chinese traditions with international influences; courtesy, efficiency and respect for hierarchy are valued at work. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, shopping, hiking trails and beaches, although housing is expensive and living space can be limited. Overseas employees normally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer before starting work. Employers commonly provide guidance on documentation, while applicants should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation costs, medical coverage and contract terms. An offer, valid passport, qualifications and relevant experience are usually required for relocation.
