Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance, technology and tourism. Its hospitality industry is international and provides career paths for chefs, bakers, restaurant professionals and hotel specialists. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, Chinese festivals and global influences, while the lifestyle is fast-paced, convenient and highly urban. Public transport is excellent, although housing can be expensive and living space is often limited. Hong Kong is not a single resort island; it includes Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, along with smaller outlying islands. Foreign employees usually need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer, with proof of qualifications, a genuine job offer and suitable salary.
