Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotel sales, resort operations, tourism, aviation, restaurants, events, diving, wellness, and travel services, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and coastal resort areas. Island life varies: Langkawi is relaxed and tourism-focused, Penang combines heritage, food, and urban conveniences, while Sabah and nearby islands offer beaches, diving, and nature. Local culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences; modest dress and respect for religious customs are appreciated. Living costs are generally moderate, though popular resort islands can be more expensive and seasonal. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an approved Employment Pass before starting work. Relocation planning should include accommodation, health insurance, transport, banking, tax registration, and dependent-pass requirements. Malaysian nationals do not require employment visas.
