Destination Guide

The Philippines offers strong opportunities in banking, shared services, technology, accounting, customer support, and business operations, particularly in Manila, Cebu, and Clark. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and relationship-focused. Manila provides the widest range of corporate jobs but has heavy traffic and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. Cebu offers a more relaxed setting with a growing business sector, while other islands provide beaches, nature, and lower living costs. Rent, transport, and food vary considerably by location; central Manila is usually the most expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and appropriate work visa before starting employment, while Filipino citizens do not need a visa. Relocating employees should arrange documents, health insurance, housing, banking, and tax registration. Weather is tropical, with a dry season and a rainy season, and travel between islands generally requires domestic flights or ferries.
