Lead Application Security Engineer

Job Description

The Lead Application Security Engineer is responsible for strengthening ANZ’s software security across the development lifecycle. Requirements typically include substantial experience in application security, secure coding, threat modelling, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security tools used within CI/CD pipelines. Experience with cloud environments, DevSecOps, software development practices, and risk-based security assessment is highly valued. The successful candidate is expected to provide technical leadership, work closely with engineering and product teams, influence secure design decisions, identify and manage vulnerabilities, and promote security-by-design principles. Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor other engineers are essential.
