Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, aviation and business services, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, particularly during Ramadan and in public places. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, dining and entertainment, although accommodation and summer temperatures can be demanding. For most expatriate employees, the employer arranges an employment entry permit, residence visa, medical examination and Emirates ID. Confirm whether the package includes housing, transport, insurance, meals, flights and annual leave before relocating. Bring certified qualifications and maintain valid passport documents. Dubai is well connected internationally, while weekend travel to beaches, deserts, mountains and neighbouring countries is popular.
