Destination Guide

Spain’s islands offer varied hospitality opportunities, especially in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Mallorca and Ibiza. Tourism creates jobs in hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel services, sales, reservations, entertainment and wellness, with seasonal demand often strongest before summer and winter holiday periods. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with relaxed coastal living, local festivals, seafood, outdoor activities and strong international communities. Lifestyle is generally sunny and social, although accommodation can be expensive in popular resort areas and public transport varies between islands. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can live and work in Spain with the required registration. Non-EU applicants usually need an employer-sponsored work permit or an appropriate study or internship visa arranged before starting work. Candidates should confirm contract terms, salary, accommodation, insurance, transport and visa responsibilities directly with Meliá before relocating.
